RESEARCH TOOLS

 

Library facilitates access to the following subscribed and open source research tools. It arranges periodical training on the use of these software for reference management and citation. Library academic staff carries these training programmes.At times we also get product representatives to provide training to our scholars.

1. Reference Management Tools

  • EndNote: EndNote is the industry standard software tool for publishing and managing bibliographies, citations and references on the Windows and Macintosh desktop. Library has access to EndNote reference management software through Web of Science database subscription.   • Zotero : Zotero is an open source, free, easy-to-use tool to help you collect, organize, cite, and share your research sources. Zotero is the only research tool that automatically senses content in your web browser, allowing you to add it to your personal library with a single click. Whether you're searching for a preprint on arXiv.org, a journal article from JSTOR, a news story from the New York Times, or a book from your university library catalog, Zotero has you covered with support for thousands of sites.

  • Mendeley: Easily organize your papers, read & annotate your PDFs, collaborate in private or open groups, and securely access your research from everywhere. Its a a desktop and web program for managing and sharing research papers, discovering research data and collaborating online.

2. Plagiarism: Detection and Avoiding

Turinitin is an internet based Plagiarism Detection Service. We have subscribed to this service which checks the the submitted documents against its database and the contents of other webistes in order to identify the plagiarism, if any. The software helps the academic community in avoiding plagirism and improve their academic writing.

Web of Science: The Web of Science (formerly Web of Knowledge) is today's premier research platform, helping you quickly find, analyze, and share information in the sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities. You get integrated access to high quality literature through a unified platform that links a wide variety of content with one seamless search.

Library conducts periodic training programmes on the effefctive use of Web of Science platform.

4. JCCC: -J Gate is an electronic gateway to global e-journal literature. Launched in 2001 by Informatics India Limited, J-Gate provides seamless access to millions of journal articles available online offered by 12,222 Publishers. It presently has a massive database of journal literature, indexed from 44,690 e-journals with links to full text at publisher sites.
